Adsorption thermodynamics: a basic cycle analysis.

Author(s) : TOZER R.

Summary

This paper addresses adsorption cycle thermodynamics and proposes a thermodynamic model of an ideal adsorption cycle. The real adsorption cycle is represented on extended T-s diagrams; then, idealizing assumptions are made until the real cycle becomes ideal. This cycle is constituted by two sections: driving and cooling. The simplicity of these proposals enables further work on multi-cycles and second law analysis to be undertaken and provides textbook material on overall sorption thermodynamics.
