Summary

Aerodynamics of air-distribution elements is dependent on geometry and construction properties of the element for supplying and taking out of the air to and from the space room. Most important in the occupied zone are velocity and temperature of the air, which influence the indoor air quality in certain type of room. In present work operational conditions of such air distribution element at different air flows, temperatures and local positions are analyzed. Result of comparison of basic analysis, CFD simulation and full-scale measurement produced basic characteristics of velocity and temperature profiles from air discharge from air distribution element toward space of ventilated room. Exponential based algorithm fully describes velocity distribution below the ceiling, central plane between two air distribution elements and beside the wall. Study and analysis is made upon example of non-swirl diffuser, installed in typical suspended ceiling in commercial building.
