THE GROWING BEHAVIOUR AND THE FREEZING SUITABILITY OF 76 GREEN BEAN VARIETIES WERE EVALUATED. THE BEST VARIETIES FOR PROCESSING ARE CARAVELLE, INGO, LABRADOR, NERINE, PROS, GITANA, R843, SLANKETTE AND SPHINX. AUTAN, BEL AMI AND SLENDERETTE VARIETIES APPEARED SUITABLE FOR AGRONOMY AND PRODUCTIVITY, BUT THERE WERE SOME TECHNOLOGICAL LIMITS. A. M.
