Summary

The paper introduces the air-conditioning system of a diesel-electric submarine. This system consists of (1) an air circulating and ventilating system; (2) a cooling system; and (3) an air-cleaning system. In the enclosed space of a submarine, the crew are on and off duty and a number of types of equipment are operating. The air-conditioning system is very important not only for the crew's environmental conditions and life support, but also for continuous working of the equipment on board.
