Summary

The cooling unit of an air conditioning system utilizes bleed air from the engine compressor, and it consists of an air-cycle machine, primary/secondary heat exchangers, temperature control valves, water separator, etc. The paper provides a general description of this system, the difference between vapour cycle system and air cycle system, and the future trend of the system.
