Summary
Aircraft air conditioning systems have ventilation, temperature control and pressurization functions. The cooling unit of an air conditioning system utilizes bleed air from the engine compressor, and it consists of an air-cycle machine, primary/secondary heat exchangers, temperature control valves, water separator, etc. The paper provides a general description of this system, the difference between vapour cycle system and air cycle system, and the future trend of the system.
