Type of article: Article
Summary
Air quality is often equated with the ability of a filtration unit to remove small particulates, particularly microorganisms and their spores. New technologies allow for a cleanable high-efficiency particulate air filtration system which has the capability to be automated, or self-cleaning. The system cleans air to 99.6% at the 0.3 micron level. A system evaluated at California Polytechnic State University reduced the overall microbial load in the test environment by about 90%.
