AIR TIGHTNESS IN INSTALLATIONS PROTECTS THE ENVIRONMENT.
[In German. / En allemand.]
Author(s) : LOTZ H.
Type of article: Article
Summary
THE AUTHOR PRESENTS TABULAR DATA ON CFC EMISSIONS AND RECYCLING AND FUTURE NEEDS IN R12, IN GERMANY. INCLUDED ARE DATA ONTHE SHARES OF TOTAL EMISSIONS AND INITIAL CHARGES TAKEN BY DIFFERENT CFCS. ALSO GIVEN ARE THE PROPORTIONS TAKEN BY EACH SECTOR (REFRIGERATION, INSULATION, FIRE EXTINGUISHERS, ETC) AND BY EACH SECTOR WITHIN REFRIGERATION. THE AUTHOR THEN GIVES RECOMMENDATIONS, BASED ON THE DATA, FOR REDUCING EMISSIONS, IN BOTH EXISTING AND NEW PLANTS. THESE INCLUDE: ENSURING AIRTIGHTNESS, RECOVERY AND RECYCLING, AND REDUCING THE SIZE OF THOSE PARTS OF THE PLANT IN WHICH THE REFRIGERANT IS INTHE LIQUID PHASE OR DISOLVED IN OIL, AS HERE IS WHERE THE GREATEST AMOUNT PER UNIT VOLUME IS FOUND.
