Alternative refrigerating systems on the basis of open absorption cycle using solar energy as heat source.

Summary

The system consists of two main parts: the drying unit and the evaporative cooling unit. In the drying unit, desorption is provided by heat from flat solar collectors, and the absorber is cooled by a cooling tower. In the evaporative unit, a combination of air and water cooling is used based on designs for direct and indirect evaporative coolers and cooling towers, both with or without regeneration. A heat and mass transfer model is developed.
