Summary
The paper presents a number of advantages and the few drawbacks of ammonia as a refrigerant. Advantages are mainly related to cost of investment, refrigerating machine efficiency, and no environmental damage. Finally, ammonia benefits from a more than 100 years experience in industrial refrigeration.
