Summary
A checklist is given of measures to be taken to ensure safety in both existing and new ice rinks in which ammonia is used as a refrigerant. The checklist was drawn up by a working group of the Ministry of the Environment, Forests and Rural Areas of Switzerland, a country with about 100 ammonia ice rinks. A separate document presents the Swiss regulations on accident safety.
