Summary
LIMIT PARAMETERS INDICATING THE RISK OF WATER FREEZING IN HORIZONTAL EVAPORATOR TUBES CAN BE DETERMINED BY A CALCULATION PROCEDURE. THE MAIN EFFECTS INFLUENCING WATER FREEZING IN TUBES ARE THE EVAPORATION TEMPERATURE, WATER TEMPERATURE AT THE EVAPORATOR OUTLET, CHILLED WATER QUANTITY, WATER CHILLING TIME WITHOUT ANY FURTHER HEAT GAIN. CRITICAL PARAMETER OF WATER FREEZING IN TUBES IS THE INTERDEPENDANCE OF THE EVAPORATING TEMPERATURE AND THE CHILLED WATER QUANTITY. INCIDENCE OF WATER FREEZING IN TUBES CAN BE REDUCED BY INCREASING THE CIRCULATING WATER QUANTITY.
