Summary
WITH THE AIM OF FINDING REGENERABLE MATERIALS FOR REMOVING ETHYLENE DEVELOPED BY FRUIT IN COLD ROOM ATMOSPHERES, THE EFFICIENCY OF SOME SOLID PHASE ADSORBENTS WAS TESTED ACCORDING TO THEIR POLARITY. THE BEST RESULTS WERE OBTAINED BY USING APOLAR SUBSTANCES SUCH AS LONG CHAIN SATURATED HYDROCARBONS, POLYETHYLENE AND POLYSTYRENES AND THE SILICA BONDED REVERSED PHASES.
