Summary

IN THE FREEZE-DRIERS USED UP TO NOW A HIGH QUALITY IS OBTAINED WITH ARELATIVELY HIGH ENERGY CONSUMPTION. BASING ON THE ANALYSIS OF ENERGY CONSUMPTION IN THE DIFFERENT COMPONENTS OF A FREEZE-DRIER A METHOD FOR THE INTERNAL USE OF ENERGY IS SUGGESTED. THIS RESULTS IN A MARKED DECREASE IN OVERALL ENERGY CONSUMPTION AND THUS FREEZE-DRYING MIGHT BETTER COMPETE WITH OTHER DRYING PROCEDURES. THE AUTHOR PRESENTS SOME OF THE SCHEMES ELABORATED BY HIM.
