An approximative method for modeling the operating characteristics of advanced absorption chillers.
Author(s) : ZIEGLER F., HELLMANN H. M., SCHWEIGLER C.
Summary
A model of absorption chillers and heat pumps is proposed. It reduces their operating characteristics (part-load) into two simple algebraic equations: one for the capacity and one for the driving heat input. The COP then is a straightforward consequence. The equations contain in a simplified form the complete thermodynamic information of the system. It is shown how the equations can be derived. Part-load behavior can be described in a straightforward manner. Finally, the extension of the method to complex advanced sorption cycles is outlined.
