An ecological approach to a problem of risk evaluation of halocarbons.

Author(s) : BODYUL O. I., DUBRO I. V.

Summary

The ecological analysis was based on the results of the thermodynamic analysis. The ecological properties of refrigerants were estimated according to the chemical structure and can be predicted for new compositions of refrigerant blends. An evaluation of the ecological danger and environmental risks was carried out for halocarbons and blends, which are widely used in refrigerating and air-conditioning systems. The results make it possible to select environmentally safe substances and take into account qualifying conflicting objectives for acceptable, unacceptable, and natural refrigerants. These results can expand knowledge on risks related to refrigerant use.
