AN EXPERIMENTAL APPROACH TO UPGRADE THE PERFORMANCE OF A DOMESTIC REFRIGERATION SYSTEM CONSIDERING THE HFC134A.

Summary

SPECIAL EMPHASIS IS LAID ON THE REFRIGERANT CHARGE DETERMINATION, CAPILLARY TUBE FLOW AND COMPRESSOR EFFICIENCY. THE UNCERTAINTIES IN EXPERIMENTAL RESULTS ARE PRESENTED FOR THE REFRIGERANT CHARGE DETERMINATION TEST, PULL-DOWN TEST AND ENERGY CONSUMPTION TEST. WHEN OPERATING WITH R134A AS THE WORKING FLUID, THE SYSTEM SHOWED SIMILAR PERFORMANCE AS WHEN USING R12. THIS WAS ACHIEVED WITH SMALL MODIFICATIONS ON THE SYSTEM COMPONENTS.
