Summary
EXPERIMENTAL REPORT ON HEAT TRANSFER ENHANCEMENT OF FLOODED EVAPORATORS USING A TUBE BUNDLE OF CARBON STEEL T-SHAPED FINNED TUBES. THE EXPERIMENTAL RESULTS SHOWED THAT THE T-SHAPED FINNED TUBE BUNDLE IS VERY EFFECTIVE FOR AMMONIA-FLOODED EVAPORATORS. ITS OVERALL HEAT-TRANSFER COEFFICIENT, SHELL-SIDE AND TUBE-SIDE HEAT-TRANSFER COEFFICIENTS ARE AS MUCH AS 3.92, 1.75 AND 3.9 TIMES THAT OF THE PLAIN TUBE RESPECTIVELY AT AIR-CONDITIONING CONDITIONS OF LOW-HEAT FLUX.
