An insight into the comparison of test standards for household freezers.

Author(s) : BANSAL P. K.

Summary

The paper highlights the salient differences among various test standards for household electric freezers (of the vapour-compressoin type) and addresses the problem of repeatability of test data for a cabinet from one test standard to another. The standards studied during this investigation include the Australian-New Zealand Standard (ANZS), the American National Standard (ANSI), the ISO, the Chinese National Standard (CNS), and the Japanese Industrial Standard (JIS). The energy consumption test data of 5 chest freezers, along with their common multipliers of energy consumption from one standard to another, are presented and analysed.
