Summary

RABBIT CORNEAS WERE FROZEN TO 77 K IN SOLUTIONS CONTAINING 12.5% V/V DMSO AND 12.5% W/V POLYVINYLPYRROLIDONE. CELL MORPHOLOGY AND VIABILITY AFTER THAWING WERE BETTER WHEN CORNEAS WERE REMOVED FROM THE CRYOPROTECTANT SOLUTION AND COOLED IN A DRY POT, THAN WHEN THEY WERE COOLEDAND FROZEN IN THE CRYOPROTECTANT SOLUTION.
