Summary
The paper aims at helping the designer to make sensible selection of a type of glass for a well determined building, by presenting the results of an analysis on the energy consumptions for different kinds of office buildings. The study takes into account the influence of the key parameters which characterise a building: geographical situation, orientation, ratio of glass surface, internal uses, system of air conditioning used, for different glass types with a range of solar factors and heat-transfer coefficients.
