Analysis of variable-air-volume (VAV) networks for design and control.

Summary

Some form of pressure control is inherent in any control strategy for VAV systems and simple static pressure control remains typical. This is briefly reviewed and basic ideas are presented for a simple network under steady-state conditions. The complex influences affecting minimum static pressure requirement are shown. The implications for network design are noted.
