Application of life cycle assessment to refrigerant units.
Author(s) : SIDOROFF S.
Summary
The paper presents the results of an environmental life cycle assessment of two refrigerant units involving R22 and R407C. The following results were obtained: the crucial importance of the use phase of the global warming potential due to electricity use; the significant impact of coolant losses on ODP and GWP for R22, on GWP for R407C; the crucial importance of design features. Other conclusions are drawn.
