Summary
In this study, a new anti-frosting hydrophilic surface coating was developed and was sprayed upon the heat exchangers fins with the coating thickness of about 0.05 mm. Compared with a uncoated heat exchanger, it extended the frost melting cycle greatly and there was no frost deposition during the test under the same conditions. In addition, experiments on absorbing water performance of coated fins were conducted and the changes of coating weight and thickness, and surface roughness with soaking water time were tested.
