Applications of plate heat exchangers for refrigeration.

[In Italian. / En italien.]

Author(s) : SARTORI L.

Summary

Brazed plate heat exchangers are compared with shell and tube heat exchangers and coaxial (multiple tube-in-tube) heat exchangers used as condensers or dry expansion evaporators in refrigerating circuits. The pros and cons of these alternatives are reviewed; for each type of heat exchanger, diagrams are reported showing some fundamental parameters, like the mass of the heat exchanger, its internal volume and its cost, as a function of the nominal heat transfer capacity.
