WELDED PLATE HEAT EXCHANGERS AS DIRECT EXPANSION EVAPORATORS FOR R22.

ECHANGEURS A PLAQUES SOUDEES UTILISES EN EVAPORATEUR A DETENTE DIRECTE POUR FLUIDE R22.

Author(s) : MARVILLET C., SACLIER F.

Summary

CORRUGATED OR STUDDED PLATES MAKE UP THE PLATE HEAT EXCHANGERS. THESE PLATES MAY DRAMATICALLY INCREASE THE HEAT TRANSFER COEFFICIENT WITH SINGLE PHASE FLUIDS. NOWADAYS, THE PLATE HEAT EVAPORATORS MAY INCREASINGLY BE USED IN REFRIGERATION PLANTS. THE WELDED PLATE HEAT EXCHANGERS MAY SUBSTITUTE PARTLY THE CONVENTIONAL SHELL AND TUBE HEAT EXCHANGERS DESIGNED FOR POOL BOILING OR FORCED FLOW BOILING BECAUSE OF THEIR HIGHER COMPACTNESS AND SMALLER REFRIGERANT CAPACITY. AN EXPERIMENTAL WORK ON FOUR DIFFERENT GEOMETRIES OF PLATES DURING FORCED CONVECTION BOILING OF R22 IS PRESENTED.
