Summary

ATMOSPHERIC EXCHANGES AT THE OPENING OF A COLD STORE DOOR ARE STUDIED EXPERIMENTALLY. THERMOCOUPLE PROBES ARE DEVISED AND BUILT IN ORDER TO MEASURE LOCAL TEMPERATURE (273 MORE OR LESS 20 K) AND VELOCITY (NOT HIGHER THAN 2 METRES/SEC) OF AIR. 16 PROBES CONNECTED TO A REAL-TIME DATA COLLECTION AND PROCESSING UNIT GIVE INSTANTANEOUS PROFILES OF AIR VELOCITY AND TEMPE-RATURE IN A CROSS-SECTION DURING THETRANSIENT REGIME AS SOON AS THE DOOR IS OPENED. ONE EXAMPLE OF FIRST RESULTS IS GIVEN.
