Basic modifications of the heated surface for enhancement of pool boiling heat transfer.
Author(s) : DANGER E., CHANDRA U., GORENFLO D., et al.
Summary
As part of a German Joint Research Project on the fundamentals of boiling heat transfer, institutes of six universities recently started collaboration to develop a general theory for pool boiling. The paper presents the first experimental results for modified surfaces with comparatively simple shapes applied to a plain horizontal copper nickel tube with R134a boiling over wide ranges of heat flux and saturation pressure.
