Benzoyl chloride modified ionomer films as antimicrobial food packaging materials.
Author(s) : WENG Y. M., CHEN M. J., CHEN W.
Type of article: Article
Summary
The base-treated modified films were better as antimicrobial food packaging materials than acid-treated ones because of the higher amount of benzoic acid released from the former than from the latter. The antimicrobial ability of modified ionomer films was further demonstrated by inhibition of the growth of Penicillium sp. and Aspergillus niger.
