Boiling heat transfer of R-134a in helical pipes.

Author(s) : HAN J., LI S., PAN J. H.

Summary

The boiling heat transfer characteristics of R-134a in helical pipes is of significant importance to the effective design and reliable operation of helical pipe heat exchangers for refrigeration, air-conditioning, heat pump, and many other applications. This paper presents the experimental investigation on boiling heat transfer characteristics of R-134a in a helical pipe. The boiling heat transfer coefficients were experimentally determined for R-134a at three different saturated temperatures. The obtained experimental results are compared with the data available in the literature for the helical and straight pipes.
