Summary

Heat exchangers with twin-tubes ensure high safety in plants especially if a leakage at the heat exchange surface occurs. The heat exchange takes place through two concentric tubes with metallic contact at the tips of the fin structure. A possible leakage flow caused by a failure of the inner or outer tube is channeled through capillar slots between the fins and reaches the chambers where they can be registered. A mixture of the two substances in the heat exchanger is therefore impossible.
