Summary

FOR DESIGNING PROCESSES OF PURIFICATION OF GAS PRODUCED BY COAL GASIFICATION IT IS NECESSARY TO PREDICT EQUILIBRIUM DATA IN SYSTEMS CONTAINING METHANOL AT LOW TEMPERATURESAND HIGH PRESSURES. THE REDLICH-KWONG-SOAVE EQUATION OF STATE DID NOT GIVE GOOD RESULTS. A HIGH DEGREE OF AGREEMENT HAS BEEN OBTAINED AFTER INTRODUCING THE TEMPERATURE DEPENDENT BINARY INTERACTION PARAMETER. A SET OF RELATIONSHIPS FOR PREDICTING VAPOUR-LIQUID EQUILIBRIUM DATA (H2, N2, CO, CH4 , C2 H4 , C2 H6 , C3 H8 , CO2, H2 S, ETC) WITH METHANOL AND RESULTS OF TESTING ARE PRESENTED.
