THERMODYNAMIC PROPERTIES OF MULTICOMPONENT REFRIGERANTS.

Author(s) : SCHULZ U. W.

Summary

THE AUTHOR DISCUSSES PHASE RULES, APPLIED TO THE EQUILIBRIUM OF THE VAPOR AND LIQUID STATES OF MIXTURES. THOSE OF IDEAL BEHAVIOR, THAT OBEY RAOULT'S LAW, AND THOSE WITHDEVIATIONS FROM THE LAW ARE INCLUDED. THEIR BEHAVIOR MAY ANALYTICALLY BE APPROXIMATED BY DIFFERENT EQUATIONS OF STATE. EQUILIBRIUM DATA WERE CORRELATED WITH THE DE SANTES EQUATION OF STATE PREDICTING BOTH THE VAPOR AND LIQUID VOLUMES WITH SATISFACTORY ACCURACY UP TO THE VICINITY OF THE CRITICAL POINT. THERMODYNAMIC PROPERTIES OF TERNARY MIXTURES ARE SIMULATED WITH THE DE SANTES EQUATION OF STATE AND COMPARED WITH EXPERIMENTAL DATA.
