Carbon dioxide (CO2) for compression refrigerating cycles.

Le dioxyde de carbone (CO2) pour cycles frigorifiques à compression.

Author(s) : DUMINIL M.

Type of article: Article

Summary

Despite this fluid's many advantages, its major drawbacks, including weak thermodynamic efficiency in very common areas of refrigeration, and its incompatibility (because of high pressures) with contemporary refrigerating equipment, scarcely predispose it to serve as a substitute to phased-out refrigerants. Nevertheless, it could turn out to be worthwhile in special applications requiring heat production closely associated with refrigeration production.
