Summary
World LNG trade continues to expand as construction of a major LNG project in the Carribean hit full stride in 1997 and another LNG carrier was launched earlier that year. Engineering was nearly complete and construction was nearing midway on Trinidad's Atlantic LNG. In Japan another LNG tanker was launched that employs the membrane storage system.
