L'abandon des CFC.

Author(s) : SAUER F.

Type of article: Periodical article

Summary

In a didactical presentation of the current situation of CFC phase-out, more particularly in the field of refrigerated transport, the author reviews the phenomena of atmospheric-ozone depletion and of greenhouse effect, and gives the state of international and Community decisions concerning the deadlines for reductions prior to the second revision of the Montreal Protocol (November 1992). The possible existing solutions to the provision of refrigeration and the production of insulating foams (tighter management, recovery and substitution) are reviewed. In conclusion, action by professional organizations is recommended to encourage the Authorities to relax the regulations to permit the introduction of necessary charges in a more economic manner.
