Summary
This paper numerically investigates the characteristics of condensation formation on a cassette-type air conditioning (AC) indoor unit. To understand the cause of condensation, the heat and mass transfer near the outlet of the indoor unit was analyzed using a phase change model. The effects of operating conditions such as discharge speed and guide vane angle of the AC unit on condensation formation were also discussed. Condensation was formed due to the suction flow of warm-humid air and was effected more by discharge speed than guide vane angle. Total condensation rate decreased with increase in discharge speed.
