Characterization of a reciprocated compressor working with azeotropic blends of alternative and natural refrigerants.

Author(s) : HMEL'NÛK M., VOZNIY V., MAZUR V., et al.

Summary

The search of new ozone-safe and energy-effective working fluids for small refrigerating machines used refrigerants R-22 or R-502 is an important task of the refrigerating technique. The basic mixtures R-134a, R-152a, R-218 and natural refrigerants R-600a and R-290, which have azeotropic compositions, may be used for substitution of these refrigerants. Thermal and calorimetric properties of these mixtures have been calculated by means of Redlich-Kwong equation of state based on published and the authors' own data of study the phase equilibrium states of liquid-vapour systems. The authors give the results of comparative research into the energy, volume and operating characteristics of hermetic compressors using R22, R502 and pointed mixtures.
