Summary
This investigation has shown that a relatively simple one-dimensional mathematical model of a single storage capsule can be used as a building block for modelling the performance of a thermal (ice) storage unit during the charging period. The authors have experimentally validated the mathematical models both for the single capsule case and for a thermal (ice) store.
