Summary
Non-ice cream frozen food volume reached 85,000 tonnes in 1994. That equates to per capita consumtion of 6 kg, which is the highest in the Peoples' Republic of China. Category sales were broken out as follows: poultry parts and portions, 40,000 tonnes; assorted quick frozen and instant food products, 20,000 tonnes; packaged meats, 20,000 tonnes; seafood and aquatic items, 4,000 tonnes; vegetables, 1,000 tonnes. There are over 100 frozen food processors in the Shanghai area.
