Summary
Since ancient times, garlic has been considered as a means of fending off evil in general and vampires in particular. The Egyptians gave garlic to their slaves used to build the pyramids because they believed it provided strength and endurance. Garlic is thus highly symbolic but is in fact above all a vegetable condiment with numerous beneficial culinary and medicinal properties.
