Summary
Prototype components and system were developed and tested to compare the competitiveness of CO2 to the currently used R134a. Better performances were obtained in some cases. End-users place much importance not just on greenhouse effect reduction, but also cost-effectiveness and performance. However, technical problems remain to be solved before market launch.
