Summary
Both the conventional expression and the expression given by Kaushik and Shoridan (1981) and Kaushik et al (1983) for the COP of an ideal absorption cycle are misleading, and a correct expression is derived. Its deviation in COP values from the other two expressions increases with the increase in the temperature difference of the absorber and condenser. The expression derived in the paper excludes the subjective choice of temperatures in the derivation processes and is more perfect than the others.
