COLD AIR REFRIGERATING MACHINES WITH MECHANICAL, THERMAL AND MATERIAL REGENERATION.

Author(s) : HENATSCH A., ZELLER P.

Summary

TO ACHIEVE OZONE-LAYER PROTECTION, COMPLEX PROBLEMS HAVE TO BE SOLVED RAPIDLY. UNFORTUNATELY, CFC SUBSTITUTES PROVIDE LESS SATISFACTORY ENERGY PERFORMANCE. TO OFFSET THIS DRAWBACK, IT IS NECESSARY TO MAKE A SERIES OF TECHNICAL IMPROVEMENTS TO THE VAPOUR COMPRESSION MACHINES. THAT IS WHY STUDIES CARRIED OUT ON OTHER TYPES OF REFRIGERATING MACHINES, IN PARTICULAR THOSE WITH COLD AIR, ARE JUSTIFIED. THE FIRST ADVANTAGE IS THE UTILIZATION OF AIR WHICH IS NOT NOXIOUS TO THE OZONE LAYER ; THE SECOND IS THE HIGH LEVEL OF TECHNOLOGICAL DEVELOPMENT OF THE COMPONENTS OF COLD-AIR REFRIGERATING MACHINES. THE ECONOMICS OF THESE SYSTEMS IS DISCUSSED.
