Combination of condensers and liquid receiver, a serious loss of capacity.
Combinaties van condensors en vloeistofvat, wat er fout kan gaan.
Author(s) : PENNARTZ A. M. G.
Type of article: Article
Summary
The article describes a refrigerating plant where high condensing pressures occur which were not expected regarding the design conditions. It shows that a combination of different condenser types and a liquid receiver may hamper the condensate flow from the condenser. The condenser will collect liquid which causes high condenser pressures. The consequences are severe: lack of cooling capacity, energy efficiency loss of 20% and high pressure breakdown. The article gives an explanation of these phenomena based on measurements.
