Summary

Phase-change plate heat exchangers are now made leaktight by welding or soldering of the plates rather than by seals, thus allowing a much wider range of application. Phase-change heat transfer is still little understood, especially in the case of condensation. A software program developed by GRETh helps size plate exchangers and is based on constructing the enthalpy/temperature curve for the exchanger. J.L.
