Summary
Potatoes cv. Kufri Baha (short dormancy period) and Kufri Lalima (long dormancy) were stored at 4 or 12 °C from April 1 to October 4. At the lower storage temperature, sprouting capacity was maximum by August 1, while at 12 °C the maximum capacity declined more rapidly in Kufri Bahar than in Kufri Lalima. It is concluded that by the normal planting date of October, tubers stored at 4 °C have already passed their optimum physiological age.
