Summary

OPERATION OF A TWO-STAGE LOW TEMPERATURE CABINET REFRIGERATING SYSTEM WITH TWO REFRIGERANTS WAS COMPARED. PRESUMED HIGHER SPECIFIC REFRIGERATING CAPACITY WITH R502 WAS NOT CONFIRMED IN THIS CASE, AS R502 GIVES SLIGHTLY HIGHER BETTER VALUES ONLY FROM 228 TO 223 K (-45 TO -50 DEG C) OR LOWER. HIGHER PRESSURES WITH THE USE OF R22 CAN BE REDUCED BY APPLYING A TWO-STAGE COMPRESSION SYSTEM. AGAINST THE DISADVANTAGES OF A HIGHER DISCHARGE TEMPERATURE AND HIGHER CORROSION EFFECT OF R22 ON STRUCTURAL MATERIALS THERE IS THE BETTER MARKET AVAILABILITY. UNDER THESE CIRCUMSTANCES THE SYSTEM WITH R22 HAS PROVED TO BE BETTER.
