Computational fluid dynamics prediction of turbulent recirculating flow in an industrial packaged air-conditioning unit.

Summary

Finite-volume methodology was used to solve the governing equations. The predicted velocity distributions were compared with experimental results obtained from triple hot-wire anemometry measurements. These were found to be in reasonable agreement except in the region of the condensate tray at the base of the heat exchanger.
