Summary
A simulation method for louvered fin heat exchangers is described. There are two improvements over the traditional method. The heat transfer coefficient on the air side is determined using numerical analysis of results instead of empirical correlation. An iteration method is proposed to calculate the refrigerant flow rate and heat transfer rate of the heat exchanger simultaneously. The simulation method has been used successfully in designing practice.
