Summary

A MODEL HAS BEEN DEVELOPED TO PREDICT THE PERFORMANCE OF AN ABSORPTION HEAT PUMP FOR TEMPERATURE BOOSTING OF LOW-GRADE HEAT. IT SIMULATED A SINGLE-STAGE, LITHIUM BROMIDE-WATER SYSTEM. THE EFFECTS OF WASTE HEAT TEMPERATURE, COOLING WATER TEMPERATURE, AND SOLUTION CIRCULATION RATE WERE INVESTIGATED. THE TEMPERATURE BOOST AND DELIVERED CAPACITY INCREASED ALMOST LINEARLY WITH AN INCREASE IN THE WASTE HEAT TEMPERATURE OR A DECREASE IN THE COOLING WATER TEMPERATURE. THE COP INCREASES SLIGHTLY UNDER EITHER OF THESE CONDITIONS.
